Travel funding
For the 2020-2021 academic year, travel funding is available to support CryptoWorks21 participants' attendance in relevant summer/winter schools, conferences, and workshops.
CryptoWorks21 COVID-19 Update:
The travel funding program is temporarily on hold and will resume once the University of Waterloo permits travel.
Eligibility
Applicants should be active participants in the CryptoWorks21 program, must be at the University of Waterloo, and should have made reasonable progress towards completing the program requirements relative to their start date in the program and the availability of training workshops during that time.
Application process
Participants should submit a request by email to the CryptoWorks21 coordinator at cryptoworks21@uwaterloo.ca by one of the deadlines listed below. The email should include:
- Information about the event and an explanation of its relevance to the mandate of CryptoWorks21
- A one-paragraph statement of support from your supervisor commenting on the relevance of the event
- Estimate of costs
Successful applicants will be funded to a maximum of $2,000, but may receive less depending on the number of applications received.
Deadlines
Please note that the travel funding program will resume when the University of Waterloo permits travel.
- Monday September 14, 2020
- Monday January 11, 2021
Since the deadlines are fixed throughout the year, participants should submit travel funding requests even if plans are not yet confirmed, for example if a conference submission is under review and will not be decided until after the travel funding deadline has passed.
