On 13-17 August 2012, 40 high-school students in Grades 11 and 12 from across Canada and around the world came to the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) to learn about quantum computing and quantum cryptography as part of the Quantum Cryptography School for Young Students (QCSYS).

The QCSYS students got a first-hand look into the cutting-edge field of quantum cryptography, and learned about exciting topics in math, quantum physics, and computer science from graduate students and post-doctoral fellows working in quantum cryptography and quantum computing at IQC. In addition, the QCSYS students got a tour of quantum computing and quantum cryptography experiments, and even got a chance to engage in some hands-on learning.
